Desiderata (Latin desiderata) - an inspired prose poem about the achievement of happiness in life. This poem was written by Max Ermann in 1927, it gained popularity in the 60s during the heyday of the anti-war movement of pacifists, demonstrations for world peace, the first space flights and fashion for Eastern philosophy. The text was widely distributed as a poster in the 1960s and 1970s. Politicians for public speeches used quotes from the poem. The pirate radio station Voice of the World began broadcasting every night by reading this poem.

The popular actor Leonard Nimoy, who played Doctor Spock in the cult TV series Star Trek, recorded his own version of this poem on the audio album "Two Sides of Leonard Nimoy." For our project, we translated the text of this poem from English to Klingon, and then from Klingon to Russian. Klingon is an artificial language, developed by linguist Mark Oakrand specifically for the Star Trek series. This language has a detailed grammar, syntax and vocabulary, as well as many fans who speak this language. According to the series, the Klingon Empire originated in 900 AD on the planet Kronos. Its founder is "Keyless the Unforgettable", who defeated the tyrant Molora. Empire passed several generations of rulers. The period between the second and third emperors is called "Dark Time" or "Ten-Year Experiment on the Organization of Democracy". We hope that the lines of this inspiring poetry can give a new meaning to the present hymn of the Russian Federation, because the modern text of the hymn causes a lot of controversy.

Desiderata (лат. desiderata) — вдохновенная поэма в прозе о достижении счастья в жизни. Написанная Максом Эрманном в 1927 году, она получила популярность в 60-х годах во время расцвета антивоенного движения пацифистов, демонстраций за мир во всем мире, первых космических полетов и моды на восточную философию. Текст был широко распространен в виде плаката в 1960-х и 1970-х годах. Цитаты из него использовались политиками для публичных речей. Пиратская радиостанция «Голос мира» каждый вечер начинала трансляцию с чтения этой поэмы.

Популярный актер Леонард Нимой, сыгравший Доктор Спока в культовом сериале «Star Trek», записал собственную версию этого стихотворения на аудио альбоме «Две стороны Леонарда Нимого». Для нашего проекта мы перевели текст этой поэмы с английского на клингонский язык, а затем с клингонского на русский. Клингонский язык — это искусственный язык, разработанный лингвистом Марком Окрандом специально для сериала «Star Trek». Он имеет детально разработанную грамматику, синтаксис и словарь, а также массу поклонников, говорящих на этом языке. Согласно сериалу, Клингонская Империя возникла в 900 году нашей эры на планете Кронос. Основателем её является «Кейлесс Незабываемый», победивший тирана Молора. Империя прошла несколько поколений правителей. Период между вторым и третьим императорами именуется «Тёмным временем» или «Десятилетним экспериментом по устройству демократии». Мы надеемся, что строки этого воодушевляющей поэзии способны придать новый смысл нынешнему гимну Российской Федерации, современный текст которого вызывает множество споров.
